Let the original income of Rajesh =  Rs x
20% of x is on clothes = 20/100*x = Rs x/5 on clothes
Remaining amount = x - x/5 = Rs 4x/5
25% of Rs 4x/5 on food = 25/100 * 4x/5 = Rs x/5 on food
Now, remaining amount =  4x/5 - x/5 = Rs 3x/5

Given that the final remaining amount = Rs 9600
therefore
3x/5 = 9600
x = 9600*5/3 = Rs 16000

So, Rs 16000 was his original income.

Hey Friend ☺

Let the total income be x

He spends 20% on cloths

so income spent on cloths = x × 20%

= x × 20/100

= x/5

Remaining income = x - x/5

= 4x/5

He spent 25% of remainder on food

so income spent on food = 4x/5 × 25%

= 4x/5 × 25/100

= 4x/5 × 1/4

= x/5

Remaining income = 4x/5 - x/5

= 3x/5

But the remaining income is given as Rs9600

so

3x/5 = 9600

》x = 9600 × 5/3

》x = 3200 × 5

》x = 16,000

So the total income of Rakesh is Rs 16,000

Hope it helps you ..
