Let the age of Rakhi be x yrs.

=> Present age of Mother= 4x

After 5 years......

Age of Rakhi=(x+5)

Age of Mother=(4x+5)

A.T.Q.

=> (4x+5)= 3(x+5)

=> 4x+5 = 3x+15

=> 4x-3x = 15-5

=> x = 10.

Therefore,

Rakhi's age = 10 yrs.

Rakhi's Mother's Age = 4 × 10 = 40 yrs.
