Ram and Laxman befriended a girl. They ask her what is her birthday. She does not give a straightforward answer, but gives some hints.

She does give them the following 10 dates to pick her birthday

March: 15,16,19
April:17,18
May:14,16
June: 14,15,17

Then she discloses correct month to Ram and correct date to Laxman.

Asks Ram to guess the right birthday, He says sorry I can't, but I am sure even Laxman won't be able to guess it right.

Now Laxman says, I was a bit confused but with Ram's statement, I know what is her birthday.
Now Ram says if that is the case, I also know what is it.

Both guessed it right.

Answer:

The correct answer is May 16

Step-by-step explanation:

The logic behind solving the puzzle is;

Ram has been told about the month whereas Laxman knows the date.

Now the statement when Ram says that he doesn't know and also is sure that Laxman isn't aware of the correct date, it means that it there is no single date which rules out the 18th and 19th and hence the months of March and April

This leads to the month of May which has two dates .

Now, since May has two dates, but when Laxman says he knows what is her birthday and then Ram says, the unique date is 16th and hence answer is 16th May
