Answer:

18\sqrt{2/35}

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the point where Ram and  Mohan be A.

Ram takes 2 hours to reach Y from A at 18 kmph. So, distance between Y and A is 18×2 = 36 kms.

Let speed of   Mohan be y kmph. He takes35 hours to reach X from A. So, the distance between X and A is 35×y = 35y kms.

So far, we have calculated:

Speed of Ram = 18 kmph

Speed of  Mohan = y kmph

Distance between X and A = 35y kms.

Distance between Y and A = 36 kms.

When Ram walks from X to A, his speed is 18 kmph. So, time taken by him to reach A is 35y/18 = 35y/18 hours.

When  Mohan walks from Y to A, his speed is y kmph. So, time taken by him to reach A is 36/y hours.

Time taken by Ram and  Mohan to reach A from their initial positions should be same.

So,  35y/18 hours.= 35y/18 hours.

from here we get y=18\sqrt{2/35}

speed of  Mohan=18\sqrt{2/35}
