Ram and Niraj are alone in the house. Ram is watching T.V while Niraj is playing with his toy. Niraj's toy gets discharged and he decides to charge it and connects the plug to the same socket to which the T.v is connected. The table fan in their room is also connected to the same socket. Suddenly, after a few seconds Ram sees a heavy spark near the socket. He immediately puts off the main switch and calls their neighbours for help.

(A) What do you think is the reason for the heavy spark in the socket?

(B) What do you learn from Ram's behaviour?

(B) What do you learn from Ram's behaviour?

Answer :-

(A)

There is a heavy spark in the socket because three appliances are connected in the socket.

Hence there is a current overloading in the socket which is above the normal rating of the socket.

So the spark showed in the socket because it could not take any more current.

(B)

We learn from Ram's behaviour that if we do not take quick necessary actions , then there may be a fatal accident and an electric fire.

Hence he immediately called his neighbour for help.

Infact we should be careful while handling electrical appliances.

Hope it helps you :-)
