Let ram's marks be x and shyam's marks be y.
b/p
x=y+24
or,x-y=24........eq1
Again,
x=65% of x+ y
or,x=65/100×x+y
or,x=13x+13y/20
or,20x=13x+13y
or,7x=13y
or,7x-13y=0........eq2
eq×13-eq2
13x-13y=312
7x-13y=0
(-) (+). (-)
-------------------
6x. = 312
or,x=52
By putting value of x in eq1,
52-y=24
or,y=52-24=28
Therefore, ram got 52 marks and shyam got 28 marks.
