y+1 = x-1

x-y=2 eqn 1

x+1 = 2(y-1)

x+1= 2y-2

x-2y =-3

from eqn 1 and 2

x-y=2 x-2y= -3

on subtracting

x-y-2-(x-2y+3) =0

x-y-2-x+2y-3=0

y-5=0 ., y=5

but x-y=2

x-5 =2

x=7

y=5
