Given : Ram and Shyam entered in a business by making investment of ₹ 4000 & ₹ 5500 respectively.

After six months Ram & Shyam withdrew ₹1000 and ₹1500 respectively and Mohan joined them with capital of ₹ 4x.

If after one year and three months Mohan received ₹2250 as profit share out of total profit of ₹12250,

To find  :  investment of Mohan

Solution:

one year and three months = 15 month

Ram investment = 4000 * 6 +  (4000 - 1000) * (15 - 6)

= 24000 + 27000

= 51000

Shayam  investment = 5500 * 6 +  (5500 - 1500) * (15 - 6)

= 33000 + 36000

= 69000

Total Ram and shayam = 51000 + 69000  = 120000

Mohan received ₹2250 as profit share out of total profit of ₹12250,

Hence 12250 - 2250   = 10000 is of   Ram and shayam out of ₹12250,

10000/12250  = 120000/y

=> y = 1,47,000

147000 - 120000  = 27000

27000  in 9 months

Hence 27000/ 9  = 3000

investment of Mohan = 3000

4x = 3000  => x = 750
