From the question, we know that;

Ram and Shyam begin walking around a circular track at 10 am, but facing the opposite direction.

Ram's speed = 2 rounds/hr

Shyam's speed = 4 rounds/hr

∴ Relative speed = Ram's Speed + Shyam's speed = (2 + 4) rounds/hr = 6 rounds/hr

Then, we can infer that Ram and Shyam crossed each other 6 times within one hour.

Now, the span of time between 10 am and 11 am = 1 hour

So, on the basis of the inference stated above, we can conclude that Ram and Shyam shall cross each other 6 times before 11 am.

Given : Ram and shyam walk around a circular track. They start at 10 am from the same point in the opposite direction. Ram and shyam 2 and 4 rounds per hour respectively

To find : How many times shall they cross each other before 11 am

Solution:

Let say After Every T hrs  they meets

=> Both together will Complete 1 Round  in T Hrs

Ram Completes 2 Round 1 Per Hr

=> Distance Completed in  1  hr  = 2  Round

& Distance Completed in T hrs   = 2T Rounds

Shyam Completes 4 Round 1 Per Hr

=> Distance Completed in  1  hr  = 4  Round

& Distance Completed in T hrs   = 4T Rounds

2T + 4T   =  1

=> 6T = 1

=> T  = 1/6

After Every  1/6 hrs they Cross Each other

Hence From 10 AM to Before 11 AM its Less than 1 hr

=> They will Cross  <  1/(1/6) < 6 times

5 times before 11 AM

They will cross 6th time at  11 AM

5 times before 11 AM   &  6th Time at  11 AM
