Answer:

Weight of potatoes brought by Ram = 4 kg 000g (Convert the units 4000)

Weight of Potatoes brought by Rani = 3kg 800 g (Convert the units 3800)

Ratio of their purchase :- 4000 ÷  2 = 2000 ÷ 2 = 1000 ÷ 10 = 100 ÷ 5 = 20

                                         3800 ÷  2 =  1900 ÷ 2 = 950   ÷ 10 = 95  ÷  5 = 19

Answer = 20 : 19

Answer:

The ratio is \frac{20}{19}

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we have been given to find the value of the ratio of the purchases of two quantities. We have been mentioned here that Ram bought 4 kg potatoes and Rani bought 3kg 800g potatoes. First for finding the ratio we convert both of these quantities into g and then find their ratio.

1 kg = 1000 g

∴ 4 kg = 4 × 1000 g = 4000g

3 kg 800 g = 3000 g + 800 g = 3800g

Their ratio = \frac{4000}{3800}

= \frac{20}{19}

Hence the ratio is \frac{20}{19}
