atul=x+1

bhima=x+1

chandan=x+1

left=7

total apples= x+1+x+1+x+1+7

=3x+3+7

=3x+10

Answer:

70

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number of apples contained by Ram initially,

∵  He gave half of the apples and one extra apple to Atul, Bhima and Chandan one by one,

So, apples get by Atul = \frac{x}{2}+1

Remaining apples = x-\frac{x}{2}-1 = \frac{x}{2}-1

Apples get by Bhima = \frac{x/2-1}{2}+1

=\frac{x-2}{4}+1

=\frac{x-2+4}{4}

=\frac{x+2}{4}

Remaining apples = \frac{x}{2}-1-\frac{x+2}{4}

=\frac{x}{4}-\frac{3}{2}

Apples get by Chandan = \frac{x/4-3/2}{2}+1=\frac{x-6}{8}+1

=\frac{x-6+8}{8}

=\frac{x+2}{8}

Remaining apples = \frac{x}{4}-\frac{3}{2}-\frac{x+2}{8}=\frac{x-6}{4}-\frac{x+2}{8}=\frac{2x-12-x-2}{8}=\frac{x-14}{8}

According to the question,

\frac{x-14}{8}=7

x-14=56

x=70

Hence, Ram bought 70 apples.
