Ram has a rectangular chocolate bar of 10 cm length. He divided it into two equal parts vertically along its length and gave one part to his friend Rahim.

  • Steps of construction:
  • Draw a line measuring 10 cm. (Ram has a rectangular chocolate bar of 10 cm length)
  • Method I
  • Using compass, with a measure of more than half of the line drawn, draw arcs from end points of the line.
  • Draw a perpendicular line from a point where these 2 arcs intersect.
  • Hence the required perpendicular bisector.
  • Method II
  • Mark a mid-point at 5 cm from one end of the line drawn.
  • With the help of set square, draw a perpendicular line with the edge at 5 cm.
  • Hence the required perpendicular bisector.
