ram has to secure 50% marks to pass
so, pass percentage, P = 50%

he gets 50 marks and fails by 50 marks
so, pass percentage, P = 50 + 50
P = 100

so, 50% = 100
then, 100% = 200

so, maximum marks is 200

The maximum marks = 200

Given :

  • Ram has to secure 50% marks to  \sf pa s s

  • He gets 50 marks and fails by 50 marks

To find :

The maximum marks

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Form the equation

Let maximum marks = 100x

Here it is given that Ram has to secure 50% marks to \sf pa s s

So  \sf pa s s marks = 50x

Now Ram gets 50 marks and fails by 50 marks

From above  \sf pa s s marks

= 50 + 50

So the equation is

50x = 50 + 50

Step 2 of 2 :

Find maximum marks

50x = 50 + 50

⇒ 50x = 100

⇒ x = 2

The maximum marks

= 100 × 2

= 200
