Answer

Total number of marbles are 42

Solution

Let Somu has x Marbles  and Ramu has y Marbles

If Ramu takes 6 Marbles from somu the number of Marbles with them will be equal.

x-6 = y+6

x - y = 12  -------(1)

if Somu takes one marble from Ramu, Somu will have twice the number of Marbles that ramu has.

x + 1 = 2(y - 1)

x - 2y = -3  --------(2)

Solving (1) and (2), we get

x = 27 and y = 15

Total number of marbles = x + y = 27 + 15 = 42 marbles
