Let x=Nikhil’s money and y=yogesh’s money you can make the following equations:
1/4x = 1/6y
x + y = 600
To be able to do simultaneous equations, we can simplify the first equation to 6x = 4y which then is the same as 6x - 4y =0 (If you don't understand this step I can explain further)
Then multiply second equation by 6 to give 6x + 6y = 3600
Take second equation from first equation to give y=-360 (we can ignore the minus because we are talking about money you we can use modular forms I.e. They will always be positive)
So if y = 360, plug it back into the first equation to give x = 240.
The difference between the two is therefore 120.
