Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the age of Bharath be x.

Age of Laxman = x + 4

Age of Ram= x + 4 + 5

Equation :

(x) + (x + 4) +( x + 4 + 5) = 61

3x + 13 = 61

3x = 61 - 13                         ( by transposition)

3x = 48

x = 48/3                              ( by transpostion)

x = 16

Age of Bharat = x = 16

Age of Laxman = x + 4 = 16 + 4 = 20.

Answer: 20 years old

Step-by-step explanation:

If you use algebraic solution,

Lakshman will be N, Ram will be N+5 and Bharath will be N-4. The equation will be 3N+1=61. It will be 3N from lakshman(N), Ram N+5) and Bharath(N-4) so in total, there are three N.+1 was from subtracting 4 from 5 to simplify. =61 was from the statement THE SUM OF THEIR AGES IS 61. If you transpose +1 to =61, the equation will become 3N=61-1, the rule was if you going to transpose terms, their signs will change, from negative to positive and positive to negative. Now, the equation will become, 3N=60. To cancel out the 3 in 3N, divide both 3N and 60, so the answer will become N=20.
