Answer :-

• The age of Ram will be = 21
• The age of Hari will be = 12

Sólution:-

We have to assume something :-

=> r = Ram's present age

=> h = Hari's present age

Now :-

Case 1st :

Ram is 9 years older than Hari, so we write an equation from this hint :

=> r = h + 9 ------(i)

Case 2nd :

Three years ago, Ram was two times as old as Hari was, therefore, again we can write an equation :

=> (r - 3) = 2(h - 3) --------(ii)

Here:-

• (r - 3) is Ram's agre three years ago.
• (h - 3) is Hari's age three years ago.

Substituting the equation (i) into equation (ii) :-

=> (h + 9) - 3 = 2(h - 3)h + 9 - 3

=> h - 6 = 6

=> h = 12

• Hence Hari's age is 12 years.

Putting the value of h in equation (i) :

• Ram's age will be 21 years.
