Answer:

Distance = 20 m

Displacement = 0 m

Explanation:

Given :

  • Distance from Ram's school to home = 10 metres

  • Ram goes to his school and again returns back to his home

To find :

  • Distance travelled by Ram

  • Displacement of ram

Distance = distance from school to home + distance from home to school

Distance = 10+10 = 20 metres

Ram returns back to school and hence his Displacement will be zero as he has come back to his initial position agaun

Displacement = 0 metres

Distance : How much ground an object covered

Displacement : It is the shortest distance i.e., difference b/w final & initial positions.

Given ,

" RAM is coming back from school to home and covers a distance

of 10 metre "

Distance = Distance from school to home + Distance from home to school

Distance = 10 + 10 = 20 cm

Here RAM goes to school from home and came back to home

Displacement = Final point - Initial point

Displacement = 10 - 10

⇒ Displacement = 0
