Ram is cycling on a road. He feels some resistance while cycling. He suddenly brakes his
cycle and apply grease on the cycle chain. Why he do so?

He applied grease on the cycle chain because there was a friction between the cycle chain and the wheel. So he applied grease as a lubricant oil to decrease the amount of friction.
