Let the present age of father be x years.

so, Ram's age = x/2 years.

10 years ago Ram's age = (x/2 - 10) years

and

Father's age = (x - 10)

so, (x/2) - 10 = (x - 10)/3

3x/2 - 30

= x - 10 3x/2 - x

= 30 - 10 x/2

= 20 so,

x = 40 years. so, Ram's age = 20 years and Father's age = 40 years.

Let the age of Ram’s father be x years

Hence age of Ram = (x/2) years

Age of Ram’s father 20 years ago = (x – 20) years

Ram’s age 20 years ago = (x/2) – 20 years

Hence (x – 20) = 6[(x/2) – 20]

⇒ x – 20 = 3x – 120

⇒ 120 – 20 = 3x – x

⇒ 100 = 2x

∴ x = 50

Hence Ram’s father age is 50 years

Ram’s age = (x/2) = 50/2 = 25 years
