◍ Let the Ram's present age be x and Raju's age be y.

Case - I :

Condition - Ram is twice as old as Raju.

Equation :

Case - II :

Condition - If the age of Ram is 36 years, tell the age of Raju.

Ram's age = x = 36 years

Substituting the value of x in eq. i.)

$\tt{ = > x = 2y} \\ \\ \tt{ = > 36= 2y} \\ \\ \tt{ = > \dfrac{36}{2} = 2y} \\ \\ \tt{ = > 18 = y}$

Raju's age = y = 18 years

Verifying the answer :-

If Ram's age is equal to twice of Raju's age. Then our calculated answer would be correct.

Let's see,

Ram's age = 2 × Raju's age

x = 2 × y

x = 2 × 18 years

x = 36 years

36 years = 36 years

Therefore, our answer is correct.
