Given,

20% of x => (20/100)×x= 0.2x lost

Remaining Amount = 1 - 0.2x = 0.8x

=> (25/100)×0.8x = (1/4)×(8x/10) = (2x/10) = 0.2x

Remaining Amount = 0.8x - 0.2x = 0.6x

Given that this amount is equal to the amount of money left with him

0.6x = 480

=> 6x = 4800

=> x = 800
