let say originally Ram have = x rs

he lost 20 % money of x

20% of x = (20/100)x = 0.2x

money left after losing 20%

= x - 0.2x

= 0.8x rs

he spent 25 % of remaining (0.8x)

25 % of remaining = (25/100)× 0.8x

= 0.2x

left after spending 25%

= 0.8x - 0.2x

= 0.6x

0.6x = 480

multiplying by 10 both sides

=> 6x = 4800

dividing by 6 both sides

=> x = 800

originally money was = Rs 800
