Ram obtained 225 marks and failed by 15 marks if the percentage of passing marks is 40% find the maximum marks in the examination​

if total marks are x then

Let's assume maximum marks are are ‘x'.

He got 150 marks and fail by 30 marks so the passing marks should be.. 150+30=180.

Now as we know that passing marks are 40% of maximum marks so,

x×40/100 =c180.

Or 2x/5 = 180.

Or x= 180 × 5/2.

x = 450.
