Ram owns a shop in a ‘SLF Mall of India’ and sells electronics items. His godown is in a nearby local area where he can keep nearly 224 cartons in a space of 7840 square centimeter. But during pandemic, his sell went down and hence he took a smaller space of area 4760 square centimetre. Find the number of cartons he can store now?

Answer:

The number of cartons he can store now(smaller space) is 136 nos

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : 224 cartons = 7840 sq. cm

Solution :

Area required for one carton storage = Total area / no of cartons

                 for 1 carton, area required = 7840/224

                                                             = 35 sq cm

∴ for 4760 sq cm area, cartons stored = new space available/area req. by

                                                                                                     one carton

                                                               = 4760/35

                                                               = 136 nos
