The correct answer is 120 pages.

Given: Number of pages in book = 300.

To Find: Number of pages he read on third day.

Solution:

Pages read on first day = \frac{2}{5} * total pages in book

= \frac{2}{5}*300=120

Pages read on first day = 120 pages.

Pages read on second day = \frac{1}{3} * remaining pages of book

Remaining pages of book = 300-120 = 180

Pages read on second day = \frac{1}{3} * 180 = 60 pages

Pages read on third day = Total pages - (first day + second day)

= 300 - (120 + 60)

= 120

Hence, pages he read on third day is 120.
