Answer:

5 years ago Ram:Shyam = 3:1

10 years later Ram:Shyam = 2:1 or 4:2

The time gap between the two ratios is 15 years.

Look at the difference between numerator and denominator in both ratios. It is 3 – 1 & 4 - 2 = 2 in both cases.

Now look at the difference between numerators or denominators of both ratios. It is 4–3=1 or 2–1=1 in both cases.

=> If the gap between the two ratios ( point 2 above ) is 1, what will be the ratios if gap is 15 ?

Ram:Shyam 5 years ago = 3x15:1x15 = 45:15

Ram:Shyam 10 year hence = 4x15:2x15=60:30

Present ages Ram:Shyam = 50:20
