Given data in the question are

Ram saves 30%% of his salary.

Ram expenses Rs. 14,00 and

We have to find total income

let 100 percent be the total income of ram

so,ram save 30% of his salary and remaining 70 % are his expenses

\frac{1400}{70} = \frac{total  income}{100}

total income of ram=\frac{1400 \times100}{70}

=20\times100 =Rs. 2000

Therefore total income of ram is equal to Rs. 2000

Answer:

Ram's monthly salary is Rs. 2000.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Percentage savings of salary = 30%

               Expenses = Rs. 1400

To find : Total income =?

Solution :

  • It is given that  Percentage savings of salary = 30%

                     Expenses = Rs. 1400

  • We have to find Ram's total salary.
  • Let, x be the total salary.
  • According to given data, the required equation becomes,

         Total salary = Savings + Expenses

                     ∴ x=30% of x + 1400

                     ∴ x=\frac{30}{100} *x+1400

                     ∴ x=\frac{30x}{100} +1400

                     ∴ x=\frac{30x+140000}{100}

                 ∴ 100x=30x+140000

             ∴ 100x-30x=140000

                         ∴ 70x=140000

                           ∴ x=\frac{140000}{70}

                           ∴ x=2000

  • ∴ Ram's monthly salary is Rs. 2000.
