sorry the answer is 52 rs

let the amounts with ram, shyam, varun and tarun be r, s, v and t respectively.

r+s+t+v = 240

r= 1/2 (s+v+t)

r=1/2 (240-r)

r=240/3=rs 80

s=1/3 (r+v+t)

s=1/2(240-s)

s=240/4=60 rs

t=1/4 (v+s+r)

t=1/4(240-t)

t=240/5=48rs

v=240-(t+s+r)

v=240-(48+60+80)=52 rs

Answer:

Rs.52

Step-by-step explanation:

Let r,s,t,v be the amount of Ram, Shyam,Tarun and Varun

We are given that Ram, Shyam,Tarun and Varun together had a total amount of Rs 240 with them.

So, r+s+t+v = 240

We are given Ram had half of the total amount with the others.

So, r= \frac{1}{2}(s+v+t)

r=\frac{1}{2}(240-r)

r=80

Shyam had one-third of the total amount with the others.

s=\frac{1}{3} (r+v+t)

s=\frac{1}{3}(240-s)

s=60 rs

Tarun had one-fourth of the total amount with the others.

t=\frac{1}{4}(v+s+r)

t=\frac{1}{4}(240-t)

t==48rs

v=240-(t+s+r)

v=240-(48+60+80)=52 rs

Hence  the amount with Varun is Rs.52
