Answer:

Let the CP be x.

according to the question,

x(1-10/100)+54=x(1+8/100)

90x/100+54=108x/100

54=108x/100 - 90x/100

54=18x/100

x=54*100/18=300

therefore CP=300

SP=Cp - loss

=300(1-10/100)

=300*90/100

=270 Rs

Let consider the CP = RsX

Now 92% of CP = X

⇒ CP = X × 100/92

If Ram sold it for Rs.150 more, he would have 12%profit

∴ 112% × CP = CP + Rs150

⇒ 112 /100 × X × 100/92 = X + Rs 150

\frac{112}{100} × X ×\frac{100}{92} = X + Rs150

⇒28X / 23 = X + Rs150

⇒ 28X = 23X +Rs ( 150 ×23)

⇒28X - 23X = Rs ( 150 ×23)

⇒ 5X =  Rs ( 150 ×23)

⇒X = \frac{ Rs ( 150 ×23)}{5} =Rs 23 ×30 =Rs 690

Hence the selling price of the watch will be Rs 690.

Ans :- Ram made a profit of 12% by selling the watch in Rs 690.
