Ram spends 20% of the monthly income on his household expenditure

Household expenditure= $20\%x=0.2x$

Remaining amount = x-0.2x=0.8x

He spends 15% of the rest on books

He spends on books = 0.15(0.8x)=0.12x

Remaining amount = 0.8x-0.12x=0.68x

He spends 30% of the rest on cloths

He spends on cloths = 0.3(0.68x)=0.204 x

Remaining amount =0.68x-0.204x=0.476 x

We are given that he has finally saved `9520.

So, 0.476x=9520

$x=\frac{9520}{0.476}$

x=20000
