QUESTION:-

Ram walks 7 km towards North and turns towards left and covers 3 km. Again he turns towards left and walks 11 km. How far is he from the starting point?

EXPLANATION:-

From the figure in the attachment we have:-

Starting point=A

Final point=D

How far is he from starting point ?

So he is AD km far

So we can find AD using Phythagorus theorem .

AD²=AE²+ED²

AE=3 km

ED=CD-CE

ED=11-7

ED=4 km

AD²=3²+4²

AD²=9+16

AD²=25

AD=√25

AD=5 km

So he is 5 km far from starting point
