Given :-
dimensions of the rectangular floor :-
length (long) = 8m
breadth (width) = 5m
dimension of the square tile :-
side = 0.5m
here, we've to find the no. of square tiles required to cover the rectangular floor.
to find it's no. we have to divide the area of the rectangular floor by the area of the square tile.
we know that,
formula to find the area of a rectangle = length × breadth
formula to find the area of a square = side × side
therefore no. of square tiles required to cover the floor = (8 × 5)/(0.5 × 0.5)
= 16 × 10
= 160 tiles
hence, 160 square tiles are required to cover the floor.

Answer:
We have area of the rectangular floor as-
L*B,so we have
8*5 =40m
Now find area of tiles =
0.5*0.5=0.25
Now we have the answer =
40/0.25=
16
