Answer:

total oranges is 540

his distribute 540 oranges to x student

therefore 540/x

If he distribute 540 oranges to x + 30 student

therefore 540/x + 30

according to condition

540/x-540/x + 30=3

x + 30(540) - x(540)/x(x + 30)=3

540x + 540×30-540x/x² + 30x=3

540x -540 x +540×30/x²+30x=3

540 ×30/x² +30x=3

540(30)=3(x²+30x)

540(30)=3x²+90x

16200=3x²+90x

3x²+90x-16200

x²+30x-5400(divide by 3 )

x²+90x-60x -5400

x(x+90)-60(x+90)

(x-60)(x+90)

x-60=0 OR x+90=0

x=60 OR x=-90

Step-by-step explanation:

the no. of student cannot be negative

therefore -90 is unacceptable

no.of students is 60
