Given that,

Speed of Ram from Delhi to Faridabad is 40 km/h

Speed of Ram from Faridabad to Delhi is 60 km/h

To find,

The average speed and the average velocity.

Solution,

The formula used to find the average velocity of an object is given by :

v_{avg}=\dfrac{2v_1v_2}{v_1+v_2}\\\\v_{avg}=\dfrac{2\times 40\times 60}{40+60}\\\\v_{avg}=48\ km/h

He initially walks from Delhi to Faridabad and return from Faridabad to Delhi, it means that the net displacement is equal to 0. As a result, average velocity is equal to 0.
