Answer:10p - 45 and 25p-15

Step-by-step explanation:

let 10p coins be=x

25 p coins be = 60 - x

Hence,

10x+25(60-x)=8.25rs

Finally after solving we get the answer

Concept-

Try of make the equations and solve the pair of linear equations.

Given-

It is given that Rama has only 10Paise and 25paise coins in a purse and the total amount in the purse is rupees 8.25

Find-

If Rama has total 60 coins worth rupees 8.25 , then we need to find that how many coins of each denomination does she have .

Solution-

Let the number of 10paise coin = x

Let the number of 25paise coin = y

x + y = 60  → equation (1)

Also, 1/10x +1/4y = 8.25

Multiply both sides by 100

⇒ 10x +25y = 825 → equation (2)

Now, multiply equation (1) by 10

⇒ 10x + 10y =600 → equation (3)

On solving equation (2) and equation (3),

15y = 225

y= 225/15

y= 15

Therefore, x = 45 ( as x + y = 60)

Hence, Rama has 45 coins of 10paise and 15 coins of 25paise.
