\huge\underline\bold{Answer:-}

→ Rama told that she was catching fishes.

\large\fbox\color{black}{What\:have\:we\:done\:here?}

  • Firstly, we have removed the inverted commas/quotation marks.
  • Next we have changed "said" as "told".
  • Then we have inserted the conjunction "that" before the direct statement.
  • Next we have removed "I" and inserted "she" instead of it. Because we know that the pronouns of first and second person changes to third person in indirect speech.
  • Then we have made an important change, that is changing the tense. It is given in Present progressive tense in the question. And as per the rule, we have changed it to past progressive tense.
  • Finally we ended the sentence with a full stop.
