Let the distance = x km and time taken to reach is y hours

Hence, if Ram travels at 3 km/ h

x = 3(y + 0.25)

x = 3y + 0.75 (1)

Now, if Ram travels at 4km/h

x = 4(y-0.25)

x = 4y - 1  (2)

Substituting the value of x from equation 1 into equation 2

3y+0.75 = 4y-1

1.75  = y

Hence, x = 3(1.75) + 0.75

x = 5.25 + 0.75 = 6 km

Hence, the distance Ram has to travel 6 km.
