Raman always alternates his wheat crops with legumes.Why?

So that pulses keep balance in the nutrients of soil as wheat consume a lot of nutrients from soil ....legumes provide nutrients to soil even aftrr taking it from soil by fixing the nitrogen with rhizobium bacteria

so that the nutrients like nitrogen remain fixed in the soil. leguminous plants have rhizobium bacteria which converts atmospheric nitrogen into usable from which replenishes nitrogen in the soil
