Case-1:

The C.P. of 4 apples = Rs. 1

The C.P. of 1 apple = Rs.(1/4)

The C.P. of 12 apples = Rs.(1*12/4)

                                    = Rs. 3

25% of rs. 3 = Rs. (3*25/100)

                    = Rs. (3/4)

                    = Rs. 0.75

So, to gain a profit of 25% he must sell each dozen of apple for rs. (3.00+0.75)

                                                                                                   = Rs. 3.75

(Ans): Rs.3.75

Case-2:

The C.P. of 3 oranges = Rs. 1

The C.P. of 1 orange = Rs. (1/3)

The C.P. of 12 oranges = Rs.(1*12/3)

                                      = Rs. 4

25% of rs. 4 = Rs. (4*25/100)

                    = Rs. 1

So, to gain a profit of 25% he must sell each dozen of orange for Rs. (4+1)

                                                                                                      = Rs. 5

(Ans): Rs. 5
