Given : Raman can do a piece of work in 48 days, while Niwas can do the same work in 56 days

They started the work jointly after 12 days Chiru also joined them and thus all of them completed the remaining work in 9 days.

All of them were paid total Rs. 13440.

To Find :  What is the share of Niwas

Solution:

Raman and niwas worked for 12 + 9 = 21 days

chiru worked for 9 days

Raman can do a piece of work in 48 days,

=> 1 day work  =  1/48

=> Raman  21 days works = 21/48   = 7/16

Niwas can do a piece of work in 56 days,

=> 1 day work  =  1/56

=> Niwas  21 days works = 21/56   = 3/8

Paid for total work  = 13440

=> for 3/8 work paid = (3/8) * 13440

= 5040

Share of Niwas = 5040 Rs
