45 Years

Let us assume Raman's age to be x

Let us assume y to be the sum of the ages of his two son's.

Framing Equation 1 as per question:

x = 3y -------------Equation(1)

Age of Raman after 5 years

= x  + 5

Sum of ages of his two son's after five years:

= y + 5 + 5

= y + 10

Equating both the ages after 5 years:

x + 5  =  2(y + 10)

(Here, we are multiplying by 2 because there are two son's)

x + 5  =  2y + 20

x - 2y  =  20 - 5

We get:

x - 2y  =  15 --------Equation(2)

By putting the value of x in Equation (2):

3y - 2y  =  15

y  =  15

x  =  3 x 15

x  =  45

Therefore, the age of Raman is 45 years.
