  • Raman's monthly salary is 9600. He spends \sf {\dfrac{1}{4} } of his salary on food and out of the remaining, he spends \sf {\dfrac{1}{5} } on rent and \sf {\dfrac{1}{6} } on education of his children.

  1. How much does he spend on each part?
  2. How much money is left with him?

Given :

  • Raman's monthly salary = Rs 9600

  • He spends 1/4 of his salary on food

  • And out of the remaining, he spends 1/5 on rent and 1/6 on education

To Find :

  • how much does he spend on each part

  • how much money is left with him

Solution :

Raman's earning of 1 month = Rs 9600

He spend 1/4th of his income on food

Now 1/4th of Rs 9600 = Rs 2400

Remaining money = Rs( 9600 - 2400)

= Rs 7200

Now

1/5th of remaining money if spent on rent =

1/5 × Rs 7200 = Rs 1440

and

1/6th of remaining money if spent on education=

1/6 × Rs 7200 = Rs 1200

Money left with him =

Rs ( 7200 - 1440 - 1200) = Rs 4560
