Ramanujam wanted to cut the tree as the pollens were causing headaches to her mother and were also depleting the environment.

  • The question has been asked from the poem Ecology by A.K Ramanujam.
  • Ramanujan was very much caring towards his mother. He was upset, as she used to get extreme migraine headaches frequently. This was due to the flowers of the red champak tree.
  • As the pollen grains were always in the air, his home can not be a shield from the flowers' fragrance as well as its ill effects.
  • Thus, he thought then the tree is of no purpose, and causes more harm than good, he decides to cut the tree off.
