ramaya has a piece of land which is in the shape rhombus.she wants her daughter and one son to work on the land produce different crops .she divided the land in two equal parts.if the perimeter of the land is 400m and one of the diagonals is 160m ,how much area each of them will get for their crops

hiii!!!

here's ur answer...

ATQ,

we have to find the area of land, each of them will get.

perimeter of the rhombus shaped field is given 400m

therefore side × 4 = 400m

==> side = 400/4

==> side = 100m

by Pythagoras thereom, we will find the Length of another diagonal. we know that diagonal bisect each other in centre.

given the Length of one diagonal of the rhombus = 160m

half of the diagonal = 160/2 = 80m

let it be a and side of the field be c. and half of another diagonal be b.

==> a² + b² = c²

==> 80² + b² = 100²

==> 6400 + b² = 10000

==> b² = 10000 - 6400

==> b² = 3600

==> b = √3600

==> b = 60m

therefore Length of the another diagonal = 60 × 2

= 120m

area of the rhombus shaped field = 1/2 × d1 × d2

= 1/2 × 160 × 120

= 80 × 120

= 9600m²

hence, each of them will get = 9600/2

= 4800m²

hope this helps..!!
