To find:

Find the average monthly income of four of them

Solution:

Let's say,

"a" → Monthly income of Rambo = $13500

"b" → Monthly income of Mogili

"c" → Monthly income of Shailesh

"d" → Monthly income of Sanchita = $3875

We will write the possible equations as per the question:

(i) Rambo earns $500 less than the sum of the monthly income of Mogili & Shailesh:-

a = (b + c) - 500 . . . Equation 1

(ii) If Shailesh earns 1750 more then it would be equal to twice Sanchitas monthly income:-

c + 1750 = 2d

substituting d = $3875

⇒ c + 1750 = 2 × 3875

⇒ c + 1750 = 7750

⇒ c = 7750 - 1750

c = $ 6000

Now, substituting the value of c = $ 6000 and a = $ 13500 in equation 1, we get

a = (b + c) - 500

⇒ 13500 = (b + 6000) - 500

⇒ b + 6000 = 13500 + 500

⇒ b + 6000 = 14000

b = $ 8000

∴ Average monthly income of 4 of them is,

= \frac{a\:+\:b\:+\:c\:+\:d}{4}  . . . .  [using formula: Average = \frac{Sum \:of\:observations}{No.\:of\: observations}]

= \frac{13500\:+\:8000\:+\:6000\:+\:3875}{4}

= \frac{31375}{4}

= \bold{\$ \:7843.75}

Thus, the average monthly income of four of them is $ 7843.75.

sanchita's salary=$3875

Find:

SOLUTION:

Let the earning of Rambo, Mogli, Shailesh,Sachitra be a,b,c,d

As per question,

a+500=b+c----------------------(i)

b+1750=2x3875

b=$6000

∵a=$13500

putting this in eq(i)

13500+500=6000+c

⇒c=$8000

Average of Rambo, Mogli, Shailesh,Sanchita =(a+b+c+d)/4

                                                                          =(13500+6000+8000+3875)/4

                                                                          =$7843.75

Therefore the Average of Rambo, Mogli, Shailesh,Sanchita incomes =$7843.75
