Answer:

Principal amount borrowed by Romesh = Rs 2000

R =2% p a

T =2 years

Interest = P*R*T/100

=2000*2*2/100

=80 Rs.

Principal amount borrowed by Romesh = Rs 1000

R = 5 % p a

T = 2 years

Interest=P*R*T/100

=1000*5*2/100

= Rs 100

Total amount that he will have to return = Rs. 2000 + 1000 + 80 + 100 = Rs. 3180

Amount repaid = Rs. 2800

Value of the watch = Rs. 3180 — 2800 = Rs. 380

Answer:

Ans = ₹380

Step-by-step explanation:

FIRST BORROWED MONEY =

P = ₹2000

T = 2 YEARS

R = 2% p.a.

S.I = PTR/100 = ₹ 2000*2*2/100 = ₹80

AMOUNT = S.I + P = ₹(2000 + 80) = ₹2080

SECOND BORROWED MONEY =

P = ₹1000

T = 2 YEARS

R = 5% p.a.

S.I = PTR/100 = ₹ 1000*2*5/100 = ₹100

AMOUNT = ₹(1000+100) = ₹1100

TOTAL AMOUNT OF MONEY = ₹(2080 + 1100) = ₹3180

MONEY CLEARED BY RAMESH IN CASH = ₹2800

COST OF THE WATCH HE GAVE =

₹(3180 - 2800) = ₹380
