In context to question asked,

We have to determine the value of loss percentage.

As per question,

It is given that,

CP of cycle = Rs. 10000

SP of cycle = Rs. 5000

So, here,

As the SP is less than CP of the cycle,

So, there will be loss in this case.

Loss will be equal to CP - SP

So, loss will be equal to 10000-5000=Rs.\:5000

As we know that,

Profit and loss are calculated on CP.

So, loss percentage

=\frac{Loss}{CP}\times 100\%\\=>\frac{5000}{10000}\times 100\%\\=>50\%

Hence, there will be loss of 50% in this case.

GIVEN,

COST PRICE= ₹10000

SELLING PRICE= ₹5000

TO FIND,

LOSS PERCENTAGE FOR RAMESH

SOLUTION,

Since ramesh brought a cyle for ₹10000 and sold it for ₹5000 it is clear ramesh is undergoing a loss.

as we know,

LOSS= CP-SP

hence,

LOSS= 10000-5000

∴LOSS= ₹5000

Now,

LOSS PERCENTAGE= \frac{LOSS*100}{CP}

LOSS PERCENTAGE= \frac{5000*100}{10000\\} \\\\LOSSPERCENTAGE=\frac{500000}{10000}  \\\\LOSSPERCENTAGE=50

HENCE THE LOSS PERCENTAGE OF RAMESH IS 50%.
