Answer:

The work will be completed in 6 days.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Ramesh can finish a work in 10 days and Sumesh finish the same work in 15 days.
  • If both of them do this same work together.

To find:

How many days this work will be completed?

Solution:

Here first we will find one day work of both Ramesh and Sumesh.

one day's work = 1/no. of days which are required to complete the work

  • Ramesh can finish a work in 10 days.
  • Ramesh's one day work = 1/10

  • Sumesh can finish the same work in 15 days.
  • Sumesh's one day work = 1/15

Then,

  • Work done by Ramesh and Sumesh together in one day = 1/10 + 1/15
  • Work done by Ramesh and Sumesh together in one day = (3 + 2)/30
  • Work done by Ramesh and Sumesh together in one day = 5/30
  • Work done by Ramesh and Sumesh together in one day = 1/6

Therefore, 1/6 work can be done in 1 day.

So, the number of days required by them to complete the work = 1 × 6 = 6 days
