Step-by-step explanation:

Let cows be x or parrots y

4x + 2y = 130

x + y = 40 or 2x + 2y = 80

after subtraction

2x = 50

x = 25

cow no. 25

Answer:

x=25

Step-by-step explanation:

No. of cows = x

No. of parrots = y

Legs of a 1 cow = 4×1

Legs of x cows = 4x

legs of parrots = 2x( by the above eg. )

Now, from question

4x+2y = 130

2x+y = 65 -----(i)

now head of x cows = x

now head of y parrots = y

now from question

x+y=40----(ii)

after eliminating we get

x= 65-40

x= 25

No. of cows in shed is 25
